Maryland campground
Assateague Island National Seashore (NPS campgrounds) reservations
Berlin, MD (Maryland district)
The National Park Service runs the Oceanside and Bayside campgrounds on the Maryland end of Assateague; there's no camping on the Virginia end. Reservations are required March 15 through November 15 and open 6 months ahead on Recreation.gov. NPS warns that nearly all weekend dates fill the first day they open. Bayside books year-round; in winter, Oceanside Loop 2 is first-come, first-served.
This campground has its own booking rule, which the tool below uses. For Maryland's state parks, see Maryland booking rules.
